methods amp amp amp results portion should be very simple and easy i provided the new articles amp amp amp data from class please focus on the formatting

This assignment entails completing the Methods and Results sections of your APA research report. You may wish to review Chapter 2 of the textbook to learn what these sections include.

The headings ‘Methods’ and ‘Results’ should be in boldface, centered, and the subheadings ‘Participants’ and ‘Procedure’ should be in boldface, left-aligned. See below.

For the Participants section, answer the questions below in one paragraph using complete sentences. Do not copy the questions themselves into the assignment. If you wish, answer several questions in one sentence.

Who are the participants? Undergraduate students

From where were the participants sampled? A large, western U.S. university

What sampling process was used? Convenience sampling

How many men, women, and total individuals participated? 214 participants as follows: 58 men; 152 women; 2 nonbinary; 2 undisclosed)

What were the range, mean, and standard deviation of the ages? Ages ranged from 18 to 47, M = 20.22, SD = 2.81 (Statistical notation is italicized, and numbers are rounded to two decimal places in APA format.)

What were the ethnicities? 94 Asian/Asian American, 48 White/Caucasian, 41 Hispanic/Chicanx, 16 Mixed, 8 Other, 5 Black/African American, and 2 undisclosed

For the ‘Procedure’ section, describe what the participants did, what measure that was used, and the measure’s validity and reliability in one paragraph.

– Participants completed an online version of the Revised Competitiveness Index (RCI) (Houston, Harris, McIntire, & Francis, 2002). Note this is a different source than the Houston et al. (2005) article you cited in the Introduction. This will be the first time you cite this 2002 article and therefore all author names should be included.

– The RCI is a 14-item survey that measures competitiveness in two factors: enjoyment of competition and contentiousness.

– Item responses were provided on a 5-point Likert-type scale that ranged from ‘1: Strongly Disagree’ to ‘5: Strongly Agree’.

– The RCI has construct validity (Houston et al., 2002) and demonstrated good test-retest reliability (r = .85) over an approximate 2.5–5-week time period (Harris & Houston, 2010).

The Harris (2010) article is new too. All sources will need to be included in the Reference/Works Cited section for the next assignment (not this assignment). I am including these two additional sources in the ‘Article Repository’ folder on TritonEd, which is located in the ‘APA-Style Research Report’ folder.

Include the details below. You may reword or copy the following:

Independent-samples t tests revealed that men reported significantly higher overall competitiveness than did women, t(208) = 2.46, p = .02, as well as enjoyment of competition, t(208) = 2.93, p = .004, but there was no significant difference between the genders in contentiousness, t(208) = .58, p = .56.
